Just wanted to share my last layout for the year with you. I've used the AC Dear Lizzy 'Enchanted' paper range for this one. I've done a bit of fussy cutting and used a couple of Martha Stewart punches. All products used are available here.
I love these pics of DD and I. She's such a sweetie. :)
And a couple of close ups.

Just want to share another layout I did with my DT kit this month. I've used the gorgeous 'Tinsel and Twig' range from The Girls Paperie but I deliberately did a non Christmas layout this time. The photos are of my DS during a recent photoshoot that my friend Kathy did for us. He did a lot of sighing and face pulling unaware that the camera was clicking away. Too funny! :)
All products used are available from Handmade by Suzanne.
I've stitched my journalling strips onto the page and boy, did I have a lot of fun with that red paint! Must do that again soon...

First up: A Cherry On Top Blog Award
I've received this one from 3 (yes you've heard right, 3) gorgeous ladies over the last 2 and a half months. Okay, 2 of them were in the last 2 weeks. Thank you to Chloe, Trudi and Nadia. You are all wonderful and I'm very flattered that you have thought of me when passing on this lovely award. You guys are the best!
So, the rules for this award are:
1. Thank the person (in my case persons) that passed it to you. Thank you Chloe, Trudi and Nadia! You guys rock!
2. Copy the award to your blog.
3. Share three things about youself that you enjoy doing.
4. Pass the award to 5 others.
Now for 3 things about me that I enjoy doing.
I think the first thing will have to be 'sleeping in'. I'm a bit of night owl and have no problem to stay awake until all hours of the morning but boy, do I struggle to get up in the mornings!
I love being a mom and I will honestly be lost without my kids when they move out of home one day. That day is coming closer as DS is 17 and DD 15. It feels like just the other day they were only babies.
I love spending time with my friends. We are a close group of friends who regulary get together for morning tea, lunch or weekend barbeques. I also love the occasional restaurant meal when its only DH and me.
I want to pass this award on to the following gorgeous ladies who always inspire me to do better with their continues lovely comments on my blog.
The rules for this award are:
1. Put the Swap Sisters Bonny Blog Award on my blog.
2. Share 5 things about myself.
3. Pass the award onto 5 other Bonny Blogs.
4. Add links to my 5 chosen Bonny Blog Winners.
5. Let them know they have been chosen to win the Swap Sisters Bonny Blog Award by leaving a comment on their blog.
Ok, so 5 things about me. Something you don't already know....
1. I am very tall (1.8 m to be exact), but I'm only the 3rd tallest in our family of 4 as DS was very proud to outgrow me about a year and a half ago. He now is the tallest, followed by DH, myself and then DD who is only about 5 cm shorter than me.
2. I studied fashion design and designed wedding gowns, etc for many years until my responsibilities as a mother became more important than having a satisfied client.
3. I recently got my first pair of reading glasses (as old age caught up with me).
4. I started playing netball again last year after about 20 years of not playing at all. My team consist mainly out of uni students. Lol! They keep me fit and young.
5. I've been married for 20 years and can't imagine life without my DH. He is my best friend and we have dreams of travelling the world together. Lol! We also have dreams of winning the Lotto! :)
I would like to pass this award on to 5 beautiful ladies who are always leaving lovely comments on my blog. Thank you girls. You are awesome.
Now, there are more than just these few girls that visit my blog and leave comments. :) I wish I could pass this on to all of you. I hope I haven't offended anyone...
Wish you all an awesome day!!

Over at Lil Red Rocket they are celebrating their first birtday with a Sketch Challenge. Here is my take on Shell's gorgeous sketch.
A close-up of my embellie cluster. That cute little turtle, the blue start button and the butterfly were from an embellishment swap at Top 50 a couple of months ago. Thank you girls!

I don't think I'm quite done with these papers yet. Everything is just taking so much longer because of the school holidays. Lol! Too many distractions. I'm behind on a lot of things, but I'm so enjoying the kids being at home.
Now for the exciting news! Handmade by Suzanne's guest design team member for October is Michelle Fowler and boy, is she good! Make sure you check out all her fabulous creations in the HBS Gallery during this month. Michelle has also created the sketch for the October challenge at HBS. You can find all the information here.
Have a great weekend everybody and thanks for popping by.

When I saw the October Afternoon 'Seaside' papers for this first time I knew it would be perfect for these photos of my DH when he was 2 years old. LOL! That wat a looooong time ago. Awwww! He was such a cutie. ;)
This is my first DT layout for Handmade by Suzanne for October.
I've cut out the silhouette of him running on the beach and attached it with double-side foam tape to 'lift' it. This range is so much fun and the Shape stickers and Letterpress alphas are so gorgeeus.
Here's a card I made with the left overs.
Thanks for visiting! :)

I do have a couple of layouts to share that I started on the weekend.
The first one is for one of Top 50's monthly challenges. This one was a scraplift challenge set by Sue. We got to scraplift a layout by Treens (one of Top 50's members) and had to include a Kraft cardstock base, smeared paint and a quote. I used a photo of my DD posing with a 'photo' of Steve Irwin at the Australia Zoo. I kept the layout quite simple. Smeared paint isn't normally my thing but I must admit I had fun with this one. Might try it again some time. ;)
The next one is for the September CC at Top 50. The challenge was set by Anthea and we had to base the layout on someone who has misheard or misquoted the lyrics to a song. We had to add some glitter/bling, stitching and use felt or fabric somewhere on the layout.
I've used a photo of my friend Sandra who told me recently that she just loves that new song 'I wanna be a fricken billionaire' and then went on singing it in a totally different tune. Heehee... We still laugh about it.

Here is my take on it using some Crate 'Restoration' papers and Kaisercraft lace from HBS. The flower was crocheted by 'me'.
Friday, September 17, 2010
Even though this challenge was due last night, there are still 4 other challenges to do and they are only due on Sunday, 26 September! There are some awesome prizes up for grabs too! If you would like to play along, check it out here.
I haven't been too creative this week, but hopefully that will change over the weekend. TGIF!! (lol) Have a great weekend!

I've used October Afternoon 'Fly a Kite' pattern papers, OA 'Farm Fresh' word stickers and OA Mini Market alpha stickers. The little windmill is from Scrap FX and the lace is from Kaisercraft. Al products used are available from "Handmade by Suzanne"
And a card I've made with the left over pattern papers and some more Kaisercraft lace, Green Tara paper string and that little tag is from Kaisercraft's 'paper tags and shapes'. These little tags are made to be used with the 'tag' and 'sentiments' stamps. How cool is that?

I've used the Crate Paper ' Restoration' Collection for this and I've made my own cork embellies by sticking cork onto chipboard and cutting the shapes out on my Cuttlebug. All the products used are available at "Handmade by Suzanne".
A close-up of my embellie cluster. Love that Green Tara paper string.

Handmade by Suzanne is just getting flooded with new goodies at the moment. So why not head over there to have a look. You will find all the new products here.
Sunday, August 29, 2010
This one was for the Recipe Challenge set by Sue during the CC at Scrapbooking Top 50. I've used the 'Lucky Me' range from Little Yellow Bicycle here. The photos are of my DD and I before she went on her River Cruise in June. All products used for these layouts can be found here.
Tuesday, August 24, 2010
I've used Kaisercraft 'Lush' pattern papers and embellies for this with added 'bud and bow' ribbon, half pearls, embroidery thread and AC 'Niki Riki' Thickers. You can find all the products at Handmade by Suzanne.
I always enjoy working with Sara's sketches and hope to do more in the very near future.
Thursday, August 19, 2010
I've got a couple of layouts to share that I've done for 'Handmade by Suzanne' using the Basic Grey 'Oliver' range. I love the colours in this range and the chipboard stickers are amazing! This is an old photo I had lying around and I thought these papers where perfect for it. The little 'Place, Date and Name' tickets are from Jenni Bowlin Studios and are perfect for recording those essential details on you layouts. All products can be found here.
I thought I'll get in early and make a Fathers Day card so long. Lol, its very unusual for me to be so organised.
Wednesday, August 11, 2010
This is another DT layout for HBS. I've used the 'Up, up and Away' range from Kaisercraft and an old photo of DD and I that was taken 13 years ago. I so miss her being so little. She's 15 now and although a lovely teenager, she's not 2 anymore. *huge sigh*
I love these pattern papers and the printed chipboard buttons and balloons are to die for. The little envelopes are just too cute too. All products used are available in store here.
A card made with the left over papers.
